CONCEPT
The initial idea of the client was to create two different atmossphere on the two levels, one luxury boutique and a loft style showroom. The connection link is a terrazzo like staircase whose handrail is made out of natural, stamped steel and morphs into a space defining element. Mirrors in the showroom downstairs give an impression of infinite. Precious elemnts of the original shop which existed for nearly hundred years were carefully integrated into the concept. The facade of the shop was listed under heritage of ancient monuments and was restaurated by conservators who removed layers of paint in a manual process. The whole furnitures of the shop are coated in white. The locker rooms introduce a soft quality while the illustration of Esther Straganz a very colourful version.

SCHMUCKATELIER NEUNER, Vienna 2006. Design for a shop and a workshop upstairs.

PROJECT TEAM
Mark Neuner
Maik Perfahl

CONCEPT
The aim was to develop an entire corporate identity which proves to be powerful enough to outlast short living fashion trends. Already Adolf Loos had the deeper insight that it was the subtle treatment and correct application of material which could produce a real masterpiece. So we searched for extraordinarily gifted viennese handcrafters. Most of them were operating small workshops and were willing to develop prototypes. A massive, raw steel staircase leads to the upper level were the workshop of the goldsmith is housed. The lasered pattern of the staircase, which also achieves supporting functions, lends the shop an unique, recogniseable character. The workshop presents a contrast to the tidy sale part as it is there where the jewels are produced, new ideas are found or palaver with customers take place. The upper part can be understood as a personal space of the goldsmiths which changes according to their ideas and necessities.

OHRENSTRAND MOBIL, Berlin 2008
Design entry for a temporary pavillion for electroaccoustic music.
Divany was awarded the 2nd Prize

PROJECT TEAM
Mark Neuner
Robert Schwarz
Wolfgang List

CONCEPT
The competition was organised by the “Zeitgenössischen Oper Berlin” and splitted in two phases.
