MÖBEL DEPOT CITY, Vienna, 2011
Design and realisation of a store for asian furnitures in the 6th district of Vienna.

CONCEPT
The shop is based at the border between the 6th and 5th district next to the most famous food market and biggest flee market of Vienna. The wish of the client was to change a small shop based in an historical building by Otto Wagner into a boutique for asian furnitures and sculptures. The chalenge was to find a solution for the presentation of big size furnitures and at the opposite small size sculptures in a tiny room, 10m long and 2.5m broad. The design are five platforms that change the proportion of the room and lead the customers deep into the shop. The feeling of an endless room gets amplified by surfaces completly painted in grey, a light-instalation at the ceiling and a mirror at the end of the room. Each platform gives place for a furniture and one side of the wall is all over covered by a shelf that offers different sizes of niches for the sculptures. The shop is a play of proportions, darkness and infinity and creates a never forgetting shoping experience.
