Design for a shop and a workshop upstairs.

CONCEPT
The aim was to develop an entire corporate identity which proves to be powerful enough to outlast short living fashion trends. Already Adolf Loos had the deeper insight that it was the subtle treatment and correct application of material which could produce a real masterpiece. So we searched for extraordinarily gifted Viennese handcrafters. Most of them were operating small workshops and were willing to develop prototypes. A massive, raw steel staircase leads to the upper level were the workshop of the goldsmith is housed. The lasered pattern of the staircase, which also achieves supporting functions, lends the shop an unique, recogniseable character. The workshop presents a contrast to the tidy sale part as it is there where the jewels are produced, new ideas are found or palaver with customers take place. The upper part can be understood as a personal space of the goldsmiths which changes according to their ideas and necessities.
